Liz has over 30 years experience representing business and individual clients in disputes, including first-party and third-party insurance claims, mortgage insurers, employers, medical professionals, organizations, school districts, and municipalities in Arkansas and across the United States. Liz specializes in complex litigation and successfully litigates protracted cases to a satisfactory conclusion. Liz successfully defended clients involved in recreational businesses from disputes ranging from the flow of surface waters to the 1989 collapse of the Winkley Bridge in Heber Springs, Arkansas. She protected trucking clients from unreasonable tow fees with complaints in replevin to effectuate the return of their cargo, and equipment and establish reasonable fees for tow and storage services. She defends clients in class actions, collision repair industry lawsuits, industrial accidents, and defamation suits in litigation described as muddied and complex. She has been described by her clients as quick-witted, down-to-earth, efficient, and thorough with outstanding intrapersonal skills.
She has extensive experience in complex litigation and insurance coverage in state and federal courts and successfully defended insurers in the Miller County Colossus Class Actions eventually moved to federal court, see Legal News Line, May 18, 2012 “ANPAC group chose to fight rather than settle in Miller County, Ark.” In 2012 she co-authored a United States Supreme Court amicus brief supporting the petitioners in Standard Fire Ins. Co. v. Knowles, where the court held an insured’s damages stipulation did not remove cases from the Class Action Fairness Act. (Wall Street Journal “Supreme Court Comes to Defense of Business.”).
Liz also assists in the management of Peach Orchard Bluff, LLC in Woodruff County, Arkansas. She is a member of the Arkansas Farm Bureau, the Arkansas Canoe Club, the Audubon Society, the Nature Conservancy and is a member and volunteer for St. Joseph Center of Arkansas, an independent, non-profit organization supporting sustainable farming
